Downtown Carthage Gears Up for a Festive St. Patrick's Day Celebration on March 15!
Get ready for a day packed with fun, laughter, and community spirit as Downtown Carthage turns green for the first annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 15! Hosted by Grind & Grain Beverage Co. and Pop’s Kitchen, this street party promises something for everyone, from exciting competitions to heartfelt fundraising efforts.
Road Closure & Kickoff The festivities will take place on the downtown square, with the road closing at 1:30 PM to make way for all the action.
St. Baldrick’s Foundation Fundraiser (2:30 PM) One of the highlights of the day is the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser, dedicated to childhood cancer research. Donations of any amount are welcomed, but the main attraction is the bold and brave head-shaving event! Willing to go bald for a cause? Contact Jessica at Grind & Grain to set a fundraising goal, and they will rally the community to help you reach it.
Kid-Friendly Fun & Irish Trivia The Carthage Main Street Youth Advisory Council will have a Kid Craft Table where children can create festive St. Paddy’s Day crafts. At 4:00 PM, head inside Grind & Grain for some Irish Trivia! Gather a team of four and test your knowledge of all things Irish.
Relay Race & Beer Belly Contest For those who love a little friendly competition, sign up for the unforgettable St. Patrick’s Day Relay Race! Teams of four are encouraged to come up with creative names and costumes. Message Grind & Grain on Facebook to register in advance or sign up on the day of the event. Then, at 6:30 PM, stick around for the entertaining Beer Belly Contest!
Food & Concessions Grind & Grain/Pop’s Kitchen will be open from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM for brunch and will offer their full menu from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Meanwhile, The Esquire Theater will open for concessions starting at 2:00 PM, so you can grab a snack while enjoying all the activities.
Panola Has Talent Competition (7:00 PM) Cap off the day at The Esquire Theater with the highly anticipated Panola Has Talent Competition, sponsored by the Carthage Main Street Youth Advisory Council. Come cheer on talented locals as they showcase their best performances!
Shop Local & Enjoy the Festivities With additional activities to be announced, there will be plenty to see and do throughout the day. Explore the shops and boutiques around the downtown square and make a full day of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Carthage!
